A Gewinde-Grenzlehrdorn is a combination of a Gutlehrdorn and an Ausschusslehrdorn. The Ausschussseite is marked with a red ring. The Gut-Seite should screw into the cut thread of a workpiece by hand without extra force. If not possible, the thread doesn't meet the desired standards (Ausschuss). The Ausschuss-Seite can screw in by hand up to two turns. More than that indicates the thread doesn't meet the desired standards. A reference temperature of 20°C applies to the workpieces and gauges. VÖLKEL offers a Werkskalibrierschein upon request. Calibration is done in an independent lab following set standards (DIN, ISO, ANSI) on IAC-Gewindescannern.
