Bench Horse 'pony' portable workbench

The Bench Horse 'pony' is the medium size offering in the family of Bench Horse portable workbenches from Blum Tool Company. The key to the strength and versatility of this little bench is the torsion box construction of the top. It is made entirely of 1/2" baltic birch plywood. There is an internal framework grid, with the outer pieces being 1" thick. The top and bottom are then glued to this assembly, making it incredibly stiff and strong. On each side of these grid work boxes, a hole is bored, so that a pipe clamp can be inserted thru to the other side. This then creates a vice location every 6" around the entire perimeter of the bench. The bench top and bottom also have these holes, so work can be clamped to the bench top as well. It also has two rows of dog holes so it can be used for clamping between dogs for doing sanding or planing where you don't want a clamp intruding on your work space.
